01 – Business
A US manufacturer producing packaging for food and e-commerce customers, with revenue of approximately $10m and a baseline operating margin of around 3%. Finance and administration ran on a five-person function.
02 – Friction
Order, production and stock information sat apart from finance. Invoicing, reconciliation, supplier processing and reporting were re-keyed by hand, and management information arrived late.
- Repeated manual data entry between systems
- Slow, month-end-dependent reporting
- No single view of orders, stock and margin
03 – System
We connected the operational and finance layers, then automated the repetitive workflows across them: document handling, invoice and payment processing, reconciliation, supplier admin and recurring reporting.
04 – Result
Approximately 90% of repetitive finance workflows are now automated. The finance function spends its time on control and judgement rather than data entry.
05 – What changed
Information moves without being re-typed, reporting is produced continuously rather than assembled, and the operating picture is available during the month instead of after it.
Company confidential under NDA. Automation of workflows is not equivalent to headcount removal; economic impact will be quantified separately if required.
